Coon Dog Day 5K
Coon Dog Day 5K is a community running event held in Saluda, NC, with the start/finish located on Main Street and McCreery Park in downtown Saluda. The event raises funds for the Polk County High School Cadets marching band and follows the traditional Coon Dog Day 5K route.
Distances:
- 5K with chip timing and age-group awards.
- 1K Kids' Fun Run with clock timing; parents may join and only kids receive a T-shirt while supplies last.
Packet pickup is scheduled the evening before the race at the Saluda Inn, 229 Greenville St., including a complimentary trail mix offering at pickup. Race day check-in is located at Looking Glass Realty, 108 East Main St., beside the post office.
Parking for the 5K is available at First Baptist Church, the Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration, and Saluda United Methodist Church for race use until 9:30 am. Additional parking is available at the Saluda Elementary School back parking lot on Seminary Street. Festival shuttle service is noted from some lots.
T-shirts are offered; registrations completed by June 15 have a t-shirt guarantee. The event includes a daylong festival of crafts, food, and music in the town following the running events. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
