Coon Dog Day 5K : Saluda, NC
Coon Dog Day 2026 is a community race and festival held in Saluda, North Carolina on July 11. The event raises funds for the Polk County High School Cadets marching band and uses McCreery Park beside Main Street as the start area. The start and finish line are on Main Street.

Registration for the 5K opens March 20, 2026; the registration fee is $25. Registration for the kids 1K opens February 2, 2026; the fee is $15. Both registrations close May 4, 2026. Participants who register by June 15 are guaranteed a participant t-shirt while supplies last. All registration is online through the event registration system; phone registration is available until race start.
Packet pickup is scheduled for Friday, July 10 at the Saluda Inn, 229 Greenville Street, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. Race day check-in will be at Looking Glass Realty, 108 East Main Street, beside the post office.
The 5K includes chip timing for all participants and awards by age group. The kids fun run uses clock timing and follows a short loop through adjacent streets. Parking is provided at several nearby lots for race participants, with a shuttle operating from the festival parking area as noted by organizers.
