Coon Dog Day 5K - Saluda, NC
The Coon Dog Day 5K takes place on July 11, 2026, in Saluda, North Carolina. The event begins in McCreery Park in the middle of downtown Saluda and uses Main Street for the start and finish area.

Packet pickup is scheduled for Friday, July 10, at the Saluda Inn (229 Greenville Street), where participants collect race bibs and t-shirts; a complimentary hotdog is provided at packet pickup. Race day check‑in is held at Looking Glass Realty (108 East Main Street), beside the post office. Registration is handled online; paper forms are not used for late or walk-up registration.
Parking for the race is provided at the First Baptist Church, the Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration, and Saluda United Methodist Church for race use, and additional parking is available in the Saluda Elementary School back (bus) lot on Seminary Street.
The 5K includes chip timing for all participants and awards distributed by age group. The Kids' Fun Run follows a short loop—up Carolina, down Henderson to Cullipher, and back to Main Street—parents may join the kids but only children receive a T-shirt while supplies last. The event is hosted by and raises funds for the Polk County High School Cadets marching band. A daylong festival of crafts, food, and music accompanies the event.
