Coon Dog Day 5K, Saluda NC
Coon Dog Day takes place in Saluda, NC on July 11, 2026. The event center is McCreery Park at the corner of Main Street and Greenville Street in downtown Saluda.
- 5K with chip timing and age group awards
- 1K Kids Fun Run with clock timing and a half mile loop
Packet pickup is Friday, July 10 at the Saluda Inn, 229 Greenville Street, with bib and t-shirt pickup and a free hotdog from 5 to 8 pm. Race day check-in is at Looking Glass Realty, 108 East Main Street, beside the post office. The start and finish are on Main Street and the 5K follows the traditional Coon Dog Day 5K route.
Parking for the 5K is available only until 9:30 am at First Baptist Church, the Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration, and Saluda United Methodist Church; a shuttle will bring people from the festival parking lot after that time. Additional parking is available at the Saluda Elementary School back bus lot on Seminary Street.
The event is hosted by and raises funds for the Polk County High School Cadets marching band. To guarantee a t-shirt, registration should be completed by June 15.
