Trail Run in Cookridge
The Cookridge Community 10K is a multi-terrain running event held in Leeds. The race commemorates Gareth Dunn and follows a course that incorporates various surfaces. Starting at the Cookridge Village Scout Hall on Pinfold Lane, the route heads toward Paul’s Pond, which runners navigate in an anti-clockwise direction.
The course leads into Golden Acre Park, passing a nature reserve and moving onto grass sections. There is a single grass hill located approximately halfway through the route. Participants encounter trail paths through wooded areas, where the terrain includes exposed roots and potentially muddy sections depending on weather conditions. After performing a loop of the main path and a clockwise circuit of the lake, runners retrace their steps back to the finish line at the scout hut.
The event has an entry limit of 360 participants and does not offer registration on the day. The following distances are available:
- 10 km multi-terrain run
- 1 mile fun run
Race headquarters are located at the Cookridge Village Scout Group on Pinfold Lane. On-site facilities include toilets, water stations, and distance markers. Limited baggage storage is available within the Scout Hall, restricted to one bag per person. There are no changing or shower facilities at the venue. All finishers receive a commemorative t-shirt.
