Conway Stars and Strides Run
The Conway Stars and Strides Run is an annual event held in historic downtown Conway, South Carolina. This third annual race commemorates Veterans Day and serves as a tribute to those who have served in the military. The course takes participants through the downtown area, starting near the Terrace on Laurel Street.
The event offers two distinct distances for participants:
- 5k
- 1 Mile
All participants receive a patriotic race shirt and a finisher medal upon completion of their event. The 5k race includes a competitive element with awards presented to the top three overall male and female finishers. Additionally, awards are provided for different age groups based on chip timing, ranging from runners aged 0-9 to those 70 and older.
The event has a charitable focus, with proceeds and donations supporting the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Chapter 57. This organization works to support local veterans in the Conway community. Race materials can be collected during scheduled packet pick-up times on the day before the race at a local outfitter or on the morning of the event at the race site.
