Conway Stars and Strides Run
The Conway Stars and Strides is a running event held in the historic downtown area of Conway, South Carolina. The event takes place annually in November to observe Veterans Day and recognize those who have served in the military. Participants are encouraged to wear patriotic clothing and carry flags during the race.
The event features two distinct distances for participants:
- 5k
- 1 Mile
All participants receive a patriotic-themed race shirt and a finisher medal upon completion. The 5k race includes an awards ceremony for the top three overall male and female finishers. Additionally, awards are provided for the 5k based on chip time across various age groups, ranging from 9 and under to 70 and older.
The run supports DAV Chapter 57, a local organization for Disabled American Veterans. Financial contributions made through the event are directed toward supporting veterans within the local community. Packet pick-up is available the day before the race at a local outfitter on North Main Street, as well as on the morning of the event near the Terrace in downtown Conway.
