Running Event Overview
Conquer the Wall is a distance running event held at Snow Summit in Big Bear Lake, California. This race marks its 10th anniversary in 2026 and serves as a fundraiser for the Big Bear High School cross country team. The event takes place on mountain terrain at an initial elevation of 7,000 feet.
Course Details
The race follows a 1 mile course that consists of a 1,000-foot vertical climb. The terrain includes dirt fire roads and steep, undeveloped hillside sections. Participants compete in a high-altitude environment where the course concludes at the top of the mountain.
Participant Information
Free parking is provided at the base of the venue. All participants receive a free chairlift ride back down the mountain after completing the mile. Spectators have the option to purchase discounted chairlift tickets to reach the summit or may use a free trail to ascend.
Packet pick-up is available locally on Friday afternoon or at the event site on Saturday morning. All participants are required to sign a waiver in person during the packet pick-up process.
Amenities and Awards
Awards are presented across various age categories, with special additional awards designated for the 10th annual edition. Cash prizes of $100 are awarded to the top male and female finishers. At the summit, participants can access a restaurant on the deck for food and beverages.
