Event Overview
The Conquer the Dam 5K is a fundraising event hosted by Aging & Family Services of Mineral County. It is the 14th annual edition. All proceeds support the local Meals on Wheels program.
Course and Location
The event takes place at Jennings Randolph Lake, specifically at the Howell Run Picnic Area in Elk Garden, West Virginia. The course is an out-and-back route that goes across the dam and spillway, which is normally closed to the public. The road surface is asphalt. A course map is available.
Distances and Registration
Participants can choose from the following options:
- 5K Run
- 5K Walk
- 3K Run
- 3K Walk
Categories are split into Adult and Youth. Registration costs $20 for adults and $15 for youth. Pre-registered entrants are guaranteed a commemorative t-shirt. Participants who cannot attend in person can run the distance at a location of their choice, record their time, and submit it by a specified date.
