UltraTrax Wisp Resort - April 10, 2027
UltraTrax at Wisp Resort is a single-day, timed walking and hiking challenge on the mountain trails around Deep Creek Lake in McHenry, MD. Participants have a 10 hour window to cover as much distance as they choose, with loop and elevation details provided for planning. The course blends shaded single-track, punchy climbs, and open ski-trail stretches, offering sweeping views of Deep Creek Lake and the surrounding Allegheny Mountains as elevation is gained.
Participants choose from these distances:
- 7 miles (one loop)
- 14 miles (two loops)
- 21 miles (three loops)
- 28 miles (four loops)
Each distance can be completed unweighted or with a personal vest or ruck. Weight options noted by the organizer include 10 lb, 20 lb, and 35 lb; packs are weighed on the morning of the event. The advertised seven mile loop has about 802 ft of elevation gain.
Course logistics include professional timing, regularly located aid stations, well-marked trails, and staffed volunteer points at key intersections.
