Wisp Resort - UltraTrax
Wisp Resort in McHenry, Maryland hosts a mountain-built trek across rugged Allegheny ridges and rolling high-country slopes on April 10, 2027. The route moves through shaded forest, dense hardwoods, ridgelines, and open ski-trail sections with views of Deep Creek Lake and the surrounding mountains.
The course is a 7-mile loop with varied terrain and about 802 ft of elevation gain per loop. The route includes single-track, punchy climbs, and broader mountain corridors, and finishes back at the base area after a descent from the ridgelines.
Participants can choose their total distance and whether to add weight. Options include:
- 7 miles (one loop)
- 14 miles (two loops)
- 21 miles (three loops)
- 28 miles (four loops)
Walkers may go unweighted or carry a weighted vest or ruck with options of 10, 20, or 35 pounds. Completing the course within a 10 hour window awards event patch items, and completing three or four loops provides the opportunity to earn the Grey Wolf medal.
Event services include a trail pack with commemorative patch and finisher shirt, professional timing, clear trail markings, aid and volunteer support, professional photography, and a base camp with food and drinks.
