UltraTrax Wisp Resort
UltraTrax at Wisp Resort in McHenry, MD on April 10, 2027 is a single-day, 10 hour walking and rucking challenge. Participants choose their distance and may complete the course unweighted or with a weighted vest or ruck. The event uses a 7 mile loop with 802 feet of elevation gain; repeating the loop yields longer distances.
The route moves across Wisp’s Allegheny ridges and high-country slopes and combines shaded single-track, punchy climbs, and open ski-trail stretches. Sweeping views of Deep Creek Lake and the surrounding mountains appear as participants gain elevation. Support on course includes professionally timed tracking, regularly located fully stocked aid stations, clear signage and volunteers at key intersections, and professional photos.
Distances and options
- 7 miles one loop, Trail Wolf medal available
- 14 miles two loops, Trail Wolf medal available
- 21 miles three loops, eligible for Grey Wolf medal
- 28 miles four loops, eligible for Grey Wolf medal
Participants receive a commemorative patch, a venue-specific finisher shirt, and medals based on distance, plus bonus swag for weighted vest or ruck participants. Weighted participants must bring their own vest or backpack for weigh-in on race morning and remove perishable items before weighing.
