Connect Community Village 5K Run/Walk
Connect Community Village / Bluegrass Veterans Ranch is a 20-acre, 25-home tiny house community that supports veterans transitioning from military to civilian life. The community offers vocational job training, animal therapy, a working ranch environment, and peer-supported veteran programs and resources. Its mission is to equip veterans with life skills for a purposeful and productive civilian life.
The event on July 18, 2026 includes a 5K run, a 5K competitive walk, and a RUCK event. The run and competitive walk are listed at 3.1 Miles. The competitive walk division requires continuous walking with one foot on the ground at all times; running, jogging, trotting, or springing any portion of the course may lead to disqualification. The RUCK requires female participants to carry a pack weighing at least 15 pounds and male participants to carry a pack weighing at least 25 pounds; RUCK participants must be 16 or older.
Registration details vary by event. The 5K events open registration on December 29, 2025 and close on July 6, 2026 with a registration fee of $20. The RUCK registration opens on June 11, 2026 and closes on July 11, 2026 with a registration fee of $20. Early packet pickup is scheduled for Friday, July 11 at the Pulaski County Judicial Center in downtown Somerset. Registration is handled at the Pulaski County Judicial Center Courtyard. The start and finish are on S. Maple Street in front of the Pulaski County Attorney’s Office. Parking is available behind Commercial Printing and beside the Pulaski County Judicial Center.
The event partners with 22 Too Many. Registrations received by June 30 are entered into a drawing for a $50 gift certificate to be awarded on race day. Complimentary warm-up and stretching will be provided on site. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
