Community Traverse Sprint 70KM : Lakes Challenge
The Sprint 70KM is an entry-distance event in the Coast2Coast series. Participants traverse the Lake District by following a condensed section of Wainwright’s Coast to Coast route from St Bees to Patterdale. The route combines coastal trails, mountain passes, steep climbs and rocky descents across typical Lake District terrain.
Navigation should not rely solely on way-marking. Conditions can vary significantly with the weather. A GPX file and final route details will be provided in advance of the event.
Key checkpoints include Ennerdale, Borrowdale and Patterdale. Checkpoints will provide water and hot food with vegan and gluten free options, snacks and race nutrition, indoor access, toilet facilities and first aid support.
The overall cut-off for the event is 18 hours; individual checkpoint cut-offs will be issued in the final race pack. A mandatory kit list applies and must be respected. Live tracking is used for all participants and trackers must be returned after the event. Participants who withdraw must inform race control and report to the nearest checkpoint.
The event is organised by Community Traverse and is registered with the International Trail Running Association. Finishers receive ITRA endurance points. Entry fee is listed at £70 and minimum age is 20 years. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
