Community Traverse Sprint 70KM
The Sprint 70KM is an entry distance in the Coast2Coast series that traverses the Lake District along a section of Wainwright’s Coast to Coast route. The course starts at St Bees and finishes in Patterdale, combining coastal paths, mountain passes and varied Lake District terrain with notable ascents.
The route is way-marked in sections but should not be solely relied upon for navigation. It includes coastal trails, steep climbs, rocky descents and mountain terrain, and conditions can vary significantly with weather. A GPX file and final route details will be provided in advance of the event.
There is one major checkpoint at Rosthwaite. Key checkpoint locations named for the route are Ennerdale (water station), Rosthwaite and Patterdale (finish). Checkpoints will offer hot and cold food with non-vegan and vegan options, hot and cold beverages, snacks and race nutrition, indoor access, toilets and period products, and first aid support.
The overall cut off for the event is 18 hours; participants who fall behind cut off pace may be withdrawn for safety reasons. Individual checkpoint cut offs will be detailed in the final race pack. A mandatory kit list applies, and live tracking will be used for all participants. Participants who withdraw must inform race control and report to the nearest checkpoint.
The event is organised by Community Traverse, is registered with the International Trail Running Association, and awards ITRA endurance points to finishers. Entries open 27 April 2026 and close 1 March 2027; minimum age is 20 and the entry fee is £70. The event date is 20 March 2027. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
