Community Traverse - Lakes Challenge (Sprint 70KM)
The Sprint 70KM is part of the Coast2Coast series and follows a section of Wainwright’s Coast to Coast route through the Lake District. The route starts at St Bees and finishes in Patterdale, offering a condensed coast to coast experience that combines coastal paths, mountain passes and varied mountain terrain.
The course follows Wainwright’s path and includes waymarked sections, but waymarks should not be relied on for navigation. The route features coastal trails, steep climbs, rocky descents and mountain ground. Conditions can vary significantly depending on weather. A GPX file and final route details will be provided in advance of the event.
Structured checkpoints are placed along the route at Ennerdale, Borrowdale and Patterdale. Checkpoints will provide water and hot food with vegan and gluten free options, snacks and race nutrition, indoor access, toilet facilities and first aid support.
Safety measures include an overall cut off of 18 hours and individual checkpoint cut offs to be issued in the final race pack. A mandatory kit list applies. Live tracking will be used and participants are responsible for returning their tracker. Participants must inform race control if they withdraw and must be capable of maintaining forward progress within event cut offs.
Minimum age is 20. Entry fee is £70. The event is organised by Community Traverse and is registered with ITRA; finishers earn ITRA endurance points. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
