Community Traverse - Lakes Crossing
The 100KM Lakes crossing is a testing point-to-point ultra through the heart of the Lake District, following Wainwright’s Coast to Coast route. The course runs from St Bees to Shap and passes coastal paths, steep climbs, rocky descents and mountain terrain. Sections are way-marked but should not be solely relied on for navigation. A GPX file and final route details will be provided before the event.
The event uses structured checkpoints including Ennerdale, Borrowdale, Patterdale and the finish at Shap. Checkpoints will provide water and hot food with vegan and gluten free options, snacks and race nutrition, indoor access, toilet facilities and first aid support. A bag drop service operates from the start to the finish.
Overall cut-off time for the course is 30 hours; individual checkpoint cut-offs will be issued in the final race pack. Live tracking is used for all participants and trackers must be returned. A mandatory kit list applies and must be respected. Participants who withdraw must inform race control and report to the nearest checkpoint. The event is officially registered with the International Trail Running Association and finishers earn ITRA endurance points.
Entry requirements include a minimum age of 20 and an entry fee of £95. Entries open 27 April 2026 and close 1 March 2027. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
