Community Traverse Coast to Coast 300KM
The Community Traverse Coast to Coast is a full crossing of England on foot, following Wainwright's established route from the Irish Sea at St Bees to the North Sea at Robin Hood's Bay. The event covers 300KM and is presented as the flagship Community Traverse event.
The route passes through three national parks: the Lake District, the Yorkshire Dales, and the North York Moors. Terrain includes mountain trails, moorland, forest tracks, farmland and road crossings, with variable underfoot conditions. A GPX file and final route details will be provided to participants in advance.
Structured checkpoints are positioned along the route, with family and support welcome at designated points. Key checkpoint locations include Ennerdale (water station), Rosthwaite, Patterdale, Shap, Kirkby Stephen, Richmond, Ingleby Arncliffe and Egton Bridge. Checkpoints will offer hot and/or cold food including vegan options, hot and cold beverages, snacks and race nutrition, indoor access, toilet facilities and period products, and first aid support. A bag drop service will operate at selected checkpoints.
This is a multi day ultra requiring self-sufficiency and navigation competence. Live tracking is used and trackers must be returned. A mandatory kit list applies. The overall event cut-off is 114 hours; participants who do not meet checkpoint cut-offs may be withdrawn for safety. The event is registered with ITRA and finishers earn ITRA endurance points.
