Community Refugee & Immigration Services 5K

The Community Refugee & Immigration Services (CRIS) 5K is an annual community event held in downtown Columbus, Ohio. The event takes place at Genoa Park and supports a non-profit organization dedicated to assisting refugees and immigrants with resettlement and integration into the Central Ohio area. The program features several ways to participate in person, alongside virtual options for those who cannot attend the physical location.

Participants can choose from a variety of distances and formats:

  • 5K Run/Walk: A timed in-person event through the downtown area.
  • 1 Mile Walk: An untimed walking course for those preferring a shorter distance.
  • Kids Fun Run: A 100m dash specifically for younger participants.
  • Virtual 5K: A remote option allowing participants to complete the distance independently.

The in-person festivities are held on Saturday, while the virtual participation window extends across the weekend. The event represents an independent non-profit agency that works in partnership with Church World Service to provide stability and self-sufficiency for individuals and families from around the world. All in-person distances originate from the 303 W Broad St area. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
