Event Information
The Commodore 24 Hour Challenge is a timed running event taking place at Gulf Coast State College in Panama City, Florida. The challenge involves running or walking one mile every 30 minutes for 24 hours. Participants can enter as a solo runner or as a two-person relay team.
Event Format and Rules
The event follows a specific format. All participants start together at a mandatory time. They must complete one mile within each consecutive 30-minute time segment. If a runner misses the finish time for any mile, they are disqualified. Miles cannot be "banked" or run ahead of schedule in a single segment. All runners, including relay team members, run the first and final laps together.
Venue and Logistics
The one-mile loop course starts and finishes at the Gulf Coast State College baseball field. The route passes campus landmarks like the Military and Veterans Resource Center and the Student Union West. Participants are encouraged to bring a tent to set up on the baseball field for the duration. They should also plan to bring their own food and hydration, though some snacks will be provided.
Participant Requirements
All runners must be at least 16 years old. No pets of any kind are permitted on the college campus. Strollers and similar wheeled equipment are allowed but must start at the back. Packet pickup begins on race day and must be completed by a specified time.

All registered runners receive an event shirt and a finisher's medal. Awards are given to the first-place overall male and female, first-place masters (male and female), and first-place relay teams in male, female, and co-ed categories, including a masters division for relays.
