Commando Series at Hever Castle
The Commando Series at Hever Castle in Kent takes place on Saturday 10 October 2026. It is an obstacle mud run designed to recreate elements of Royal Marines Commando training. The course includes a variety of rugged obstacles, some of which are described as exact replicas of obstacles used at the Royal Marines Commando Training Centre, and one obstacle is named the Catacombs of Doom.
Distances available:
- 3 km course for ages 7 years and above.
- 6 km course for ages 8 years and above; listed with 26 obstacles.
- 12 km course for ages 16 years and above; listed with 26 obstacles.
Age and supervision rules include a junior 6 km category for ages 8 to 15 years, with under 11s requiring adult accompaniment at a 1:3 ratio. The event offers a Gold ticket upgrade for participants aged 16 and over that adds carrying 21 lbs of extra kit including webbing and a wooden rifle, a hot ration pack on finish, and access to a two hour survival course plus wild showers.
