Commando Series at Hever Castle
The Commando Obstacle Mud Run takes place at Hever Castle, Kent on Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th October 2026. The event recreates elements of Royal Marines Commando training with a military style obstacle course and mud-based challenges. It includes a 2-hour survival experience within the castle grounds.
Distances offered:
- 3K
- 6K with 26 obstacles
- 12K with 51 obstacles over two laps
Age and entry rules are specified for each distance. The 12K and 6K adult entries require participants to be 16 years and older. Junior 6K is for ages 8 to 15; 3K is for ages 7 and above. Children under 11 must be accompanied by an adult at a 1:3 ratio.
A GOLD ticket upgrade is available for £30. The upgrade includes carrying 21lbs of extra kit, webbing and a wooden rife, a hot ration pack meal on finish and access to a 2-hour survival course after the event’s wild showers. The GOLD option is for participants aged 16 years and over.
Spectators can view obstacles from the event village. The village features a climbing wall, live music, a fully stocked bar and access to the historic castle. Some obstacles are replicas from the Royal Marines Commando Training Centre at Lympstone and one feature is named the Catacombs of Doom.
