Event Overview
The Columbus Pet Run and Walk is held on a Saturday in May at Columbus Whetstone High School in Columbus, Ohio. It is an event for participants and their dogs, with a portion of the proceeds supporting local animal shelters and rescue organizations.
Available Distances
Participants can choose from several race options:
- A 10k run.
- A 5k run, jog, or walk.
- A 1 Mile walk.
- A Kids Fun Run (with and without swag options).
- Virtual race options for the 10k, 5k, and 1 Mile.
Course and Atmosphere
The route is described as scenic, taking participants through parks and neighborhoods. The event encourages participants to bring their dogs.
Participant Perks
Participants in the 1 Mile, 5k, and 10k events receive a giant dog-tag finisher's medal, a bandana, a custom race bib, pet treats, chip timing, instant results, snacks, and refreshments. Animal participants receive a smaller dog-tag finisher's medal. The first 200 registrants also receive a frisbee. Virtual participants receive both sizes of finisher's medals and pet treats.
