Columbus Run, Walk, and Roll for MPS
The National MPS Society is hosting a timed 5K run and a 1 Mile walk in Columbus, Ohio, with an in-person and a virtual participation option. The event raises money and awareness to support people and families affected by mucopolysaccharidosis and related rare diseases; proceeds benefit the National MPS Society.
The event takes place at 400 West Whittier Street, Columbus, OH 43215. Transportation for conference attendees will be provided by shuttle buses on a rotating schedule. The event program includes awards and a family lunch; lunch is included in registration costs.
Registration opens in May 2026 and closes on August 1, 2026. The registration fee for the listed options is $35.00. Team fundraisers are supported: participants may create a team page with a photo, team name, biography, and fundraising goal, and share the page link for donations.
The event summary includes several public health facts about rare disease prevalence and treatment access that frame the fundraising purpose: roughly 10% of Americans are affected by a rare disease, fewer than 5% of rare diseases have an FDA-approved treatment, and about 3 in 10 children with a rare condition do not live to see their fifth birthday. All proceeds advance the National MPS Society mission. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
