Color Me Green 5K Run
The Color Me Green 5K Run is a trail running event held at the Whitewater Center in Charlotte, NC. This themed color run takes place on natural surface trails featuring uneven terrain. The event is scheduled to coincide with the Green River Revival and includes festive elements such as potential leprechaun sightings.
Participants can choose from multiple distance and category options:
- 5K Competitive Division
- 5K Recreational Division
- 1/2 Mile Kids Run
The race courses are marked with colored arrows. The trails remain open to other runners, hikers, and bikers during the event. For safety reasons, pets and powered transportation, such as e-bikes, are not permitted on the course. All participants are required to sign an Assumption of Risk Agreement before joining the run.
Registration is available for both individuals and kids, with varying fees for pre-registration and day-of registration. Participants who register by March 2nd are guaranteed a race t-shirt. Awards are presented to the top five male and female finishers in the competitive division, top three in the recreational division, and top three in the kids run. A "cleanest and greenest" award is also given in the recreational category. Post-race activities include a brunch at River's Edge.
The Whitewater Center charges a daily parking fee for all visitors. The event proceeds rain or shine, although the organizers reserve the right to alter the schedule if necessary. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
