Colin's Joy Project Annual 5K Run/Walk
This community event takes place on September 25, 2027 at 866 East Broadway in Boston, MA. The main offering is a 5 km run or walk along Castle Island and the beaches of Day Boulevard; the course is described as fast and flat.
Two youth races precede the 5 km course. Distances offered on the day include:
- 5 km 5K open to all ages
- 100 m 100 meter dash for ages 9 and under
- 0.5 miles Half mile race for ages 14 and under
Registration details in the event materials list a registration fee of $30 for the 5K and $15 for youth races. Registration opened September 24, 2026 and closes on race day, September 25, 2027. The first 250 registered 5K runners or walkers receive a race shirt; shirts will also be available for purchase on the day.
Number pick up includes an early bib pickup and merchandise pop up on Friday, September 24 from 5:30 to 7 PM, and on race day registration and pick up begins at 7:30 AM for same day entries. Parking is available along adjacent streets and the beach area; resident parking restrictions are not in effect on Saturdays. The organizer is a registered nonprofit that supports play space projects and community programming in South Boston and nearby communities.
