Colin's Joy Project 5K
This annual community event on Saturday, September 26, 2026 (permit pending) is organized by Colin's Joy Project in South Boston. It features two youth races followed by a 5 kilometer course that runs along Castle Island and the beaches of Day Boulevard. The course is described as flat and runs along the shoreline near 866 East Broadway, Boston MA 02127.
Distances offered include:
- 5K race/walk (open to all ages)
- 100 Meter Dash (9 years and under)
- 1/2 Mile Run (14 years and under)
Registration details from the organizer: 5K registration is $30 and youth registration is $15. Registration opens June 29, 2026 and closes September 26, 2026. The first 250 registered 5K runners or walkers will receive a race shirt; additional shirts will be available for purchase on the day of the event.
There will be an early bib pickup and merch pop-up on Friday, September 25, and same-day registration and bib pickup are available on race day. Post-race activities include light refreshments, entertainment, awards, raffle items, and a merch pop-up. Parking is available along adjacent streets and the beach area; resident parking is not in effect on Saturdays.
