Cole Porter Classic 2026 : 40th Annual
The Cole Porter Classic takes place on October 3, 2026 at the Miami County YMCA in Peru, Indiana. The event offers road races and a competitive race walk that begin and end at the YMCA.
Distances include:
- 10K 6.2 Miles
- 5K Run 3.1 Miles
- 5K Competitive Race Walk 3.1 Miles
The 10K and 5K run events are for runners, while the 5K Competitive Race Walk is restricted to race walking; running or jogging in that category will result in disqualification. Fun walkers may participate in the 5K run and are noted as permitted in the race walk event.
The course is described as relatively flat and follows the Riverwalk Park trail, city streets, and the NPT. Participants must be able to complete the 10K within 1 hour and 30 minutes.
Registration opens March 16, 2026. Pre-registration closes September 27, 2026 for guaranteed long-sleeved shirts; late online registration is available through October 2, 2026 with shirt availability not guaranteed. The stated registration fee is $30.
Race provisions include division awards, restrooms, frequent water stations, and chip timing. Awards are planned for male and female age-group winners and first place overall in the 5K run, 10K run, and 5K Competitive Race Walk. The first 150 entrants will receive a finishers medal.
No pets or wheeled devices are allowed except wheelchairs or child strollers designed for trails or roads. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
