Event Overview
The Be a SHEro 5K Run/Walk is a women's only event hosted by Club Kokomo Roadrunners and Palmer's Jewelry. It takes place in Kokomo, Indiana. This is the second annual edition of the event.
It is a fundraiser celebrating International Women's Day. All money remaining after event costs are covered will be donated to the Family Service Association of Howard County Domestic Violence Shelter. The event is part of the Kokomo Women's Expo.
Events and Distances
Participants can register for different events:
- Be a SHEro 5K Run: A 5K chip-timed run.
- Be a SHEro 5K Walk: A 5K chip-timed walk.
- Little SHEro Sprint: A 1/4 mile sprint for girls aged 10 and under. Registration for this event costs $8.
- Virtual SHEro: A virtual event option.
Registration and Details
Registration costs increase over time. The listed price for the main 5K events is $30 until February 1, 2026. There are no refunds as it is a fundraising event.
A race registration includes participation in the chip-timed event, a participant t-shirt, a custom race sticker, and a finisher medal (subject to availability). Registering by February 16 guarantees a t-shirt in the requested size. Registrants also receive a swag bag with promotions from local businesses.
The race route uses three of Kokomo's local trails. The event is supported by the City of Kokomo Street Department. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
