Colchester Zoo Stampede 10k May 2027
The Colchester Zoo Stampede is a chip timed 10k held at Colchester Zoo. The route starts in the heart of the zoo, passes close to animals such as rhinos, elephants, giraffes and zebras, then continues onto closed roads around Colchester before returning to the event village. The course has an elevation gain of 77 m.
Entry includes free entry into Colchester Zoo on race day, official chip timed results, free race photos, a unique themed medal, post race goodies and a secure bag drop. Water is provided at roughly the 5k point and at the finish. The event village offers food, drink and finish-line refreshments from partners.
Accessibility notes state that buggy runners and wheelchair athletes are welcome, though the route is undulating and may be testing for wheelchair users or buggies. Only assistance dogs are permitted within the event village area and zoo premises.
Practical information includes free parking next to the event village and nearby rail access at Colchester North and Marks Tey; the zoo is on Maldon Road in Stanway, Colchester CO3 0SL.
