Colchester Zoo Stampede 10K : 17 May 2026
The Colchester Zoo Stampede 10K is a chip timed road race presented by Larking Gowen and organised by RunThrough. It takes place at Colchester Zoo in Colchester, a venue set in 60 acres of parkland and lakes that houses over 160 species.
The course starts in the heart of the zoo, with runners passing between animals such as rhinos, elephants, giraffes and zebras. The route includes a 1 kilometre loop through the zoo grounds before moving onto surrounding closed roads and returning to finish inside the zoo. The course is described as road terrain with an elevation gain of 77 metres.
Entries support zoo conservation activity and local mental health charities, including the zoo charity Action for the Wild and Mid and North East Essex Mind. Race entries include free Colchester Zoo entry on race day, official chip timed results, free race photos, a themed medal and post race goodies. Entry prices are listed in the range of £45 to £57.
