Coffs Backyard Ultra
Coffs Backyard Ultra is a donation-based backyard ultra held in early June 2026 at the Coffs Harbour Showground and along the Coffs Creek Walkway in New South Wales. The event follows the Backyard Ultra format: runners complete a repeated yard of 6.706 km every hour, on the hour, and continue until only one runner remains.
Each yard begins with a wide 800 m showground loop before joining the Coffs Creek Walkway for the remaining 5.906 km to a marked turnaround seat. The course surface is mainly shaded gravel and boardwalk with some bitumen; organisers report minimal elevation change of about 20 m ascent and descent per yard. An unmanned cupless water point and portable toilets are available on course at the Hogbin Drive underpass.
The event hub is the Exhibition Pavilion at Coffs Harbour Showground. Facilities include a large undercover area for marquees, a kitchen, charging stations, phone reception, and dedicated quiet sleeping space. Multiple toilet and shower blocks are available with a rostered hot shower for runners. Free camping is provided on the showground over the event weekend.
Timing is manual using tally boards and reusable bibs with a sticker tracking system. Mandatory items include a race bib, a mobile phone for night yards and a torch, and a personal cup or flask for refreshments. Prize structure includes cash awards of $1,000 to both the last male and the last female remaining, plus milestones and novelty prizes.
