Coastal Edge Shoot the Pier 5K
The Coastal Edge Shoot the Pier 5K is a first annual, non-chipped, non-timed boardwalk race held in Virginia Beach on June 20, 2026. The course is an out-and-back route that starts at the Virginia Beach Fishing Pier at 14th Street and the boardwalk, runs north to 38th Street, and returns to the start. The distance is 3.2 miles.
T-shirts and medals are awarded to all finishers. Water stations are located at the start/finish line and at the turnaround point. Parking is available at the Virginia Beach Fishing Pier, behind the 14th Street Pier shops on Atlantic Avenue, and at nearby metered spaces.
Registration opens June 5, 2026 and closes June 19, 2026; the registration fee is $30. Packet pick up is available on June 19 at Coastal Edge Oceanfront (316 21st Street, Virginia Beach, VA 23451) and also at the start line on race morning.
The event is held alongside the 6th annual Coastal Edge Shoot the Pier Surfing Competition taking place the same day. The race is presented as an inclusive, untimed activity open to participants who choose to run or walk the course. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
