Coastal Center for Hope & Healing's Run for Shelter
This is a fundraiser for the Coastal Center for Hope & Healing. The event will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at Creekside Park in New Bern, North Carolina.
The event offers three distances:
- 10K (timed)
- 5K (timed)
- 1 Mile Fun Run (untimed)
The 5K and 10K courses are USATF certified. The 5K is described as an out-and-back route, while the 10K is an out, loop, and back route. Both the 5K and 10K are open to strollers and leashed dogs. The 1 Mile Fun Run is intended as a casual walk or run. Professional race timing is provided by Run The East, and results are available live on-site and online.
In the 5K and 10K, awards are given to the overall male and female winners, as well as to the top three males and females in each age group. Discounts are available for teams and students. The event is scheduled to take place rain or shine, but may be rescheduled in the case of thunder. No refunds are offered.
After the race, there will be refreshments available. Emergency medical services will be on site, and participants are advised that the course is not closed to traffic. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
