Coaldale 5K Family Fun Run - April 18, 2026
This is a family 5 km run held in Coaldale, Alberta, with the venue at Coaldale Christian School. The stated goals are to encourage outdoor activity, strengthen family time, and build community cohesion in the Town of Coaldale.
Charitable and local project support is part of the event: $2 from every entry is donated to Rehoboth Christian Ministries. Proceeds also support two local causes: funding for baseball cages and equipment at the SHIFT Recreation Centre, and soccer nets and picnic tables for Project Playground East.
Awards include medals for the top three in each age category and prizes for the top overall male and female. Additional prizes are listed for the youngest and oldest participants and for the fastest stroller pusher male and female; stroller entrants must be registered to qualify and competitive stroller pushers must register under the competitive category.
Team challenges include a Corporate Team Challenge with a minimum of five members required for the fastest-team trophy (based on team average) and a prize for the largest team. The School Team Challenge is open to K-12 schools; the school with the largest team receives $1,500 toward a school athletic program (CCS exempt). School teams must have at least 25 members to qualify for the grand prize, and twenty $50 Sport Chek gift cards are allocated for student participants.
Entry fees are listed as 11 $ for youth 15 and under and 22 $ for adults 16 and over. Race shirts are available for 15 $ each, with an additional 2 $ for adult 2XL and 3XL sizes; shirt orders close on March 27. Registration deadlines vary by method and there are no race day entries.
