About the race
The Coach McKnight Fun Run is the sixth annual community fundraiser held in Plattsmouth, Nebraska, supporting the Plattsmouth Education Foundation, Plattsmouth Community Schools activities, and scholarships. The event takes place at Plattsmouth High School and combines a community atmosphere with opportunities for competitive racing and family participation.
Offered distances and options:
- 5K run
- 1 mile walk
- 1 mile kids race (age 10 and under)
- Virtual participation
The course begins on the track in Blue Devil Stadium, continues onto the fitness trail that encircles the high school property, and uses paved surfaces throughout. 5K participants complete three laps of the route before returning to the track to finish in front of the grandstands. Walkers and the kids mile complete a single lap around the school grounds on the trail.
Chip timing is provided by Black Squirrel Timing and age group awards are presented. Registered participants receive a race bib and medal; those who register by October 6 receive a tech long sleeve shirt.
