The CNB Oak Forest Fleadh is the 17th annual community festival in Oak Forest, Illinois, that includes a 5K road race and a family parade. The event is centered at 155th Street & Betty Ann Lane with post-race activities at Oak Forest Fire Station #1 on the City Hall campus at 155th & Central. The Fleadh features parade activities and other community events throughout the day.
Race details
The race distance is 5K. The course runs through local neighborhoods and passes several Oak Forest landmarks, including St. Damian Church, Oak Forest High School, Valley Kingdom Ministries, and Ridge and Kerkstra schools. All participants are timed using a disposable chip attached to the race bib; runners must wear the bib on the front of their clothing for accurate timing. Timing and scoring are provided by Time to Run. Awards are given to the top three overall and medals to the top three male and female finishers in each age group. Age groups include 5-9, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, and 80 & over.
Logistics and amenities
Packet pickup is available at CNB Bank & Trust, 5459 W. 159th Street, on the two days before the race, and race-day packet pickup and registration occur at Oak Forest Fire Station #1. Participants receive a short-sleeve race shirt and a goody bag while supplies last. Walkers and strollers are permitted at the back of the pack. Dogs, roller blades, bicycles, and skateboards are not allowed. Local parking is available on Ann Marie, Betty Ann, Michaele, and Natalie; additional parking is available at St. Damian Parish at 155th & Long.
