CMV Canada Half Marathon
The fourth annual CMV Canada Half Marathon takes place in Winnipeg, Manitoba, centered at Whittier Park in the St. Boniface area. This community event serves to raise awareness for congenital CMV, a leading infectious cause of infant disability in Canada. The race offers a summer running environment for athletes, families, and supporters.
Participants can choose from several event distances:
- Half Marathon
- 10 km
- 5 km
In addition to the in-person races at Whittier Park, a "Run Anywhere for CMV" option is available. This virtual component allows participants to complete a half marathon on their own route at their own pace from any location.
The start and finish lines are located at 836 Rue St. Joseph, identifiable by the MRA arch. All participants receive a high-quality commemorative medal upon completion of their race. Following the run, there is a post-race celebration at the park featuring refreshments, snacks, music, and a small medal ceremony to recognize the participants' achievements.
