Prairie Chaos Backyard Ultra
The Prairie Chaos Backyard Ultra is an official Backyard Ultra event held at Little Mountain Park in Winnipeg. The event follows a specific format: runners must complete a 6.706 km loop within one hour. If they succeed, they earn the right to start the next loop. The race continues in this manner until only one participant remains.
The course is a looped trail, winding through a mix of open prairie and shaded forest. A lodge near the start/finish area has washrooms and a water fountain, available from 7 AM to 10 PM. Portable toilets are also provided. Each participant gets a personal space by the start line to set up their own aid station or camp. A common aid station offers water, electrolyte drink, and snacks. Runners are highly encouraged to be self-sufficient.
Parking is available nearby, with approximately 40 spots on Farmer Road and additional spaces on Klimpke Road. Carpooling is recommended. Participants receive a race bib, a pair of socks, a Buff, and a "Did Not Finish" medal. The sole winner receives a distinctive prize. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
