CMP Range Run
The CMP Range Run is an athletic event held at the Talladega Marksmanship Park in Alabama. The event features two distinct distances for participants:
- 5K Range Run
- 1K Fun Run
The 5K course is USATF certified and takes place on a rolling 500-acre park located at 4387 Turner Mill Road. This location is situated a short distance from I-20. The event serves as a benefit for the CMP Youth Marksmanship Programs.
Participants can collect their race packets at multiple locations leading up to the event. Pickup is available at 1470 Sentinel Drive in Anniston on the Tuesday prior to the race, or at the Talladega venue on the Friday and the morning of the event. Registration fees vary based on the date of entry and specific club memberships, including the Anniston Runners Club, Birmingham Track Club, and Gadsden Runners Club. Members of the military and their families are also eligible for specific entry rates.
T-shirts are provided to participants who register by the designated deadline in early September. The event also includes door prizes for those in attendance. Registration fees are non-refundable and are treated as donations to the youth programs if a participant is unable to attend. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
