About the race
The Clowbridge 5k is a trail race held as part of a three‑race spring series on Thursdays in April 2027 (15th, 22nd and 29th April). The event is open to people aged 11 and over and uses a popular route off the Pennine Bridleway.
The course comprises two laps of the trail path around Clowbridge Reservoir, starting from Rossendale Valley Sailing Club on Manchester Road, Burnley, BB11 5PF, and is run in an anti clockwise direction. The distance is 5 km with about 25 m of elevation across the route, described as fast and flat for a trail course.
Prizes are awarded in each race and the event is well marshalled. Organiser RunJMC holds a licence under ARC 27/0067. Parking is available locally, including the lower car park at the Sailing Club and Limey Lane at the far end of the reservoir; participants are asked to park sensibly.
Entries for the series have defined opening and closing dates and an entry fee of £6.50 is listed. Entry is managed via the SiEntries system and series monies will be donated to local causes. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
