About the race

Clowbridge 5k takes place on 1 January 2027 around Clowbridge Reservoir on a route that follows a popular trail off the Pennine Bridleway. The course uses a two-lap circuit run anti clockwise from the Rossendale Valley Sailing Club on Manchester Road, Burnley BB11 5PF.

The distance is 5 km with approximately 25 m of elevation overall. The event is open to people aged 11 and over. Entry fee is £6.50 and entries are scheduled to open on 8 September 2026 and close on 31 December 2026.

Marshals are present along the route and prizes will be awarded. Participants are asked to park sensibly; suggested parking includes the lower car park at the Sailing Club and Limey Lane at the far end of the reservoir. Organiser details are provided by Run JMC and the event carries license ARC 27/0054.

Proceeds from the event will be donated to local causes. The event provides an organised trail running experience on a clearly described route around the reservoir with route management and safety marshals in place. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
