Clover Dash 5k - Des Moines
The Polk County 4-H Clover Dash 5k is an annual fundraising run held at the 4-H Exhibits Building on the Iowa State Fair Grounds in Des Moines. The event was created in memory of a former Polk County 4-H youth coordinator who died in a car accident in September 2014. The first edition began in the summer of 2015. Proceeds from the event are directed to Polk County 4-H youth in the form of scholarships and grants.
Each year the 5k is planned and organized by a committee of County Council youth with assistance from Polk County 4-H staff. The event program includes both in person and virtual participation options and is supported by sponsors, volunteers, staff, and 4-H members.
Available race options include:
- 5k Run for ages 13 and older registration fee $25
- 5k Run for ages 12 and under registration fee $20
- Virtual 5k registration fee $25
Registration opened on February 2, 2026 for the listed events. In person event registration closes in early July 2026 and virtual registration closes in mid July 2026.
