Cline Buttes Last Person Standing
The event takes place May 29, 2027 in Redmond, Oregon at 67585 SW Cline Falls Rd on the slopes of Cline Buttes. The course is a loop of about 3.1 miles that runners repeat for their chosen time-duration event. The loop includes a 0.4 mile climb that gains about 800 feet to the top of Cline Butte, followed by a downhill return to the start.
Event formats include timed races and a Last Person Standing format. Distances and formats:
- 5k one loop
- 3 hour timed event
- 6 hour timed event
- 12 hour timed event
- 24 hour timed event
- Last Person Standing hourly starts until one runner remains
The Last Person Standing format begins each loop at the top of the hour until only one runner remains; that final winner may continue provided they return to the starting corral at the top of the hour. The top winners in Last Person Standing for male, female, and non-binary categories each receive $150.
There will be one aid station near the start and finish offering snacks and meals through the longer events, beverages including cola and broths, and basic supplies such as first aid and hygiene items. A portion of proceeds supports the Mountain View High School cross country team in Bend. Entry concessions include free registration for Native American and Indigenous participants and youth discounts for those 18 and under.
The race includes a land acknowledgment for tribes with historic ties to the area including the Nuumu Northern Paiute people. The event policy allows race credit rollover for athletes who become pregnant or are postpartum; other refunds and bib transfers are not offered.
