Cline Buttes Last Person Standing : Cline Buttes 3/6/12/24hr & 5k Event
Cline Buttes Last Person Standing is part of a multi-format event at Cline Buttes in Redmond, Oregon, taking place May 29 and 30, 2027. The event offers loop-based running across overnight and daytime durations.
The course is a 3.1 mile loop that runners repeat according to their chosen event. Each loop includes a 0.5 mile climb that gains about 800 feet to the top of Cline Butte followed by a downhill section. Participants in the timed events complete as many laps as they choose. Last Person Standing competitors begin a new lap at the top of each hour until one runner remains. The 5k consists of a single loop. Estimated elevation gain examples are: 50k = 9,720 feet; 50 miles = 16,200 feet; 100 miles = 32,400 feet.
One aid station is located near the start and finish. The station supplies snacks and hot and cold beverages, with more meal-style options available for longer events. This is a cupless race; runners are expected to carry their own drinking vessel except when a paper cup is needed for hot drinks.
A portion of proceeds supports the Mountain View High School cross-country team in Bend. The event includes free registration for Native American and Indigenous runners with tribal verification, youth discounts for under 18, and volunteer credits for race support. A land acknowledgement notes historic ties of the Nuumu Northern Paiute people to the area. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
