Cline Buttes Last Person Standing
The event takes place at Cline Buttes near Redmond, Oregon and uses a repeated loop course. The main course is about 3 miles per lap, featuring a half-mile climb that gains approximately 800 feet to the top of Cline Butte, followed by a downhill return to the start/finish area.
Event formats offered:
- Last Person Standing format, continuing until one runner remains
- 12 hour continuous laps
- 6 hour continuous laps
- 3 hour continuous laps
- 5k one-loop race
Participants choose a time-duration event and complete as many laps as they wish within that format. There is one aid station near the start/finish that supplies snacks (chips, fruit, cookies, quesadillas, and more), beverages (soda, broths, electrolytes, coffee), and basic supplies (first aid, sunscreen, menstrual products, vaseline). More substantial meal options are provided later in the overnight program for longer events.
Awards are given for top finishers in female, male, and non-binary categories in applicable events. A portion of proceeds supports the Mountain View High School cross-country team in Bend, Oregon. Entry discounts include complimentary registration for Native American and Indigenous participants, reduced rates for veterans, active first responders, and youth, and separate waiver provisions for minors. The event includes a land acknowledgement recognizing the Nuumu Northern Paiute and other Tribes with historic ties to the area.
If a registered athlete becomes pregnant or is postpartum and chooses not to compete, race credit may be rolled to a future year. Other refunds and bib transfers are not permitted.
