Event overview
The Cliffs of the Neuse Trail Run & Hike takes place on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at Cliffs of the Neuse State Park, 240 Park Entrance Rd, Seven Springs, NC 28578. The event includes these distances:
- 4 Mile Run
- 4 Mile Hike
- 8 Mile Run
- 25K Run
- 50K Run
Online registration closes March 19, 2026. Shirt orders are a separate option and must be placed by March 5, 2026.
Course and logistics
The start and finish are at the large picnic shelter by the lake parking lot. Courses are mostly single and double track with a short gravel section, curvy trails, bridges, and river and lake views. The 4 mile loop has about 225 feet of elevation gain. The 8 mile course is a lollipop with about 425 feet of elevation gain. The 25K and 50K use laps with about 450 feet of elevation gain per lap; each lap includes a full aid and restroom at the start/finish and passes a water station and restroom twice per lap. All courses will be marked and timed. Parking is in the large lot by the lake. Restrooms are at the start/finish parking lot and at the visitors center by the water-only station.
Aid, awards and extras
Aid for the races includes water and finish-line tacos and snacks; specifics vary by distance. All 50K participants receive socks. Finishers who register in time receive a sustainable wood medal. Top three overall and first in each age group, male and female, earn custom awards. A small meal and cookies are provided at the finish. Professional photography and video will be present.
