Greater Goldsboro Road Run - Run for a Child
The Greater Goldsboro Road Run is an annual road race held in Goldsboro, North Carolina. The event has been held each year since 1979 except for 2020. The courses are USATF certified and run primarily along streets lined with azaleas and dogwoods near The Hub and the Streetscape improvements to Center Street.
The event on March 28, 2026 includes these distances:
- 10K run
- 5K run
- 5K walk
- one mile fun run
Starting locations are near The Hub at the southeast intersection of Center and Chestnut Streets downtown Goldsboro. Electronic bib timing is provided by Run the East LLC. Race t-shirts are provided to participants who pre-register and sizes are available in youth and adult options.
The Run for a Child is facilitated by the Sunrise Kiwanis of Goldsboro as a fundraiser to support children and youth in the community. Funds from sponsorships and participants provide financial support to more than 20 local organizations that assist needy children and youth in Wayne County. Awards for the 5K and 10K runs include trophies and medallions for top finishers and age group places. The one mile fun run awards a medal to each participant.
