Greater Goldsboro Road Run - Run for a Child
The Run for a Child - 48th Annual Greater Goldsboro Road Run takes place on April 3, 2027, in downtown Goldsboro at The Hub, 200 S. Center St. The event has been held annually since 1979, except for 2020, and is facilitated by the Sunrise Kiwanis of Goldsboro as a fundraiser supporting more than 20 local organizations that assist the children and youth of Wayne County.
The course is USATF certified and runs primarily along streets lined with azaleas and dogwoods. Routes return to downtown streetscape areas near the southeast intersection of Center and Chestnut Streets. Volunteers will observe safety precautions as necessary.

- 10K run
- 5K run
- 5K walk
- 1 mile fun run
Registration opens September 18, 2026. Pre-registration fees are $30.00 for the 5K and 10K and $20.00 for the 1 mile fun run; race day registration fees differ. Online pre-registration closes March 31, 2027. Electronic bib timing is used, and awards for the 5K and 10K include trophies and medallions by place and age group. Every pre-registered participant receives a race t-shirt; sizes include Youth Small to Large and Adult Small to XL.
