Coastal Mississippi Endurance Events
CLASH Endurance Coastal Mississippi is a multi-day sports festival held at Jones Park in Gulfport. The event features a variety of endurance disciplines including triathlon, duathlon, aquabike, and open water swimming. The venue is located near the Gulfport Municipal Marina and offers a coastal setting for all racing segments.
Participants can choose from several distance options and categories:
- Daytona Distance Triathlon: 1-mile swim, 35-mile bike, and 9-mile run.
- Daytona Distance Duathlon: 1.5-mile run, 35-mile bike, and 15-km run.
- Daytona Distance Aquabike: 1-mile swim and 35-mile bike.
- Sprint Distance Triathlon: 0.5-mile swim, 12-mile bike, and 3.1-mile run.
- Sprint Distance Duathlon: 1-mile run, 12-mile bike, and 3.1-mile run.
- 1 Mile Open Water Swim: A standalone 1-mile swimming event.
- Relay Options: Available for both Daytona and Sprint distance triathlons.
The swim takes place in a protected saltwater course in the Gulf of America, featuring a rolling start and a sandy beach entrance. The bike course is flat and fast, utilizing a traffic-controlled route east along Beach Rd (US-90) toward Biloxi. The run segment traverses coastal neighborhoods in Gulfport. On-course support includes aid stations approximately every mile during the run, providing water, electrolyte drinks, and other refreshments.
