About the race
The Clarendon Marathon is a trail event that follows the historic Clarendon Way from Salisbury to Winchester through Hampshire and Wiltshire countryside. The route is largely off road, with the organiser stating that more than 90% follows country tracks and paths, and it uses ancient trails along the course. Mile markers count down as the route approaches Winchester.
Route resources include detailed 2D and 3D maps and a GPX file. The organisers also provide an ascent and descent profile for the course.

Entry is described as all inclusive. Buses are included where scheduled. Participants receive a complimentary t-shirt, a medal on finishing, and a Souvenir Program which is printed for the day and available as a PDF. The mini run begins at the middle of Farley Mount Country Park and includes a bus pass and finishers items. A kiddie’s race is run around the grounds of Kings School for spectators with children.
The event was first run in 1998 and is managed by the Rotary Clubs of Winchester and Salisbury as a charity event to raise funds for a range of nonprofit organisations. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
