Clarendon Marathon
The Clarendon Marathon is an off road running event scheduled for 4 October 2026, the first Sunday in October. The route follows the historic Clarendon Way from Salisbury to Winchester, with more than 90% on country tracks and paths. Mile markers count down from 26 as the route moves toward Winchester.
Distances include:
- 26.2 miles full marathon
- 13 miles half marathon
- 5 miles mini run (last 5 miles)
- Relay for teams of four
Entry is inclusive where stated; buses are included where scheduled. Each participant receives a t shirt, a medal at the finish and a printed Souvenir Program, which is also available as a PDF. The mini run starts from the middle of Farley Mount Country Park and includes a bus pass to the start; it is presented as an informal option for those who want to run the final section. A children’s race is held around the grounds of Kings School.
A detailed 2D and 3D map, an elevation profile and a GPX file exist for the full route. The event began in 1998 and is now managed by the Rotary Clubs of Winchester and Salisbury as a charity event that raises funds for a range of nonprofit organisations. Early booking is advised as fees increase by £10 after Sunday 30 August. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
