C.L.A.P. 5k (Cancer Legacy in Action Projects)
The C.L.A.P. 5k is an annual athletic event held at Norristown Farm Park. The event supports Cancer Legacy in Action Projects, an organization that assists individuals who have lost immediate family members to cancer in carrying out projects that extend their loved one's legacy. The event takes place on a course that is open to runners and walkers of all ages.
Participants can choose from the following distances:
- 5 km run/walk
- 1 mile walk
The course is stroller-friendly and dog-friendly, provided that dogs remain on a leash. The event is held rain or shine. For the 5 km distance, awards are presented to the overall male and female champions, as well as the top three finishers in several age categories ranging from 14 and under to 70 and over. Costume awards are also part of the event.
The race utilizes a professional timing service, and official results are posted online following the event. The venue is located at Pavilion #1 within Norristown Farm Park, with the main entrance situated at 502 W. Germantown Pike. On-site signage directs participants to parking and the bib pick-up area.
