Event overview
CityTrail Loppet is an urban trail run on May 17, 2026 in Minneapolis. The event offers three distances: 5K, 10K, and 10 Mile. All races finish together at the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden. Proceeds benefit the Loppet Foundation. Registration opens January 1, 2026; registration and transaction fees are non-refundable and registrations are not transferable.
Course and format
The point-to-point course runs from the Theodore Wirth Park area (Trailhead and nearby start locations) to the Sculpture Garden. The route uses a mix of ski trail, singletrack and asphalt. The 5K start is at the corner of Theo Wirth Parkway and Hwy 55; the 10K and 10 Mile start at the Trailhead in the lower stadium. A course map and an approximate Google map are provided; the map may differ from GPS units.
Logistics and services
Services include packet pickup, a bag drop and bag claim at the finish, aid stations offering water, Gatorade and gel, and live athlete tracking and results via the Mtec Results app. There will be a finish-area party with food options and a complimentary beer for participants aged 21+; nonalcoholic options are available. Shuttle buses run from Parade Stadium parking to the Trailhead only; there are no post-race shuttles. Bike racks will be available near the finish. Awards are given to the top three overall finishers in male, female and non-binary categories for each distance; age group results are posted online.
