City of Franklin Trick or Trot 5K
The City of Franklin Trick or Trot 5K is scheduled for October 17, 2026, in Franklin, Virginia, and is presented by the City of Franklin Department of Parks and Recreation and the Franklin-Southampton United Way. The event includes both an in-person race and a virtual 5K option introduced in 2026.

The 5K course runs from historic downtown Franklin through the city cemetery to the hospital and back. The Pumpkin Dash follows a shorter route through the same areas. Participants are encouraged to wear costumes and the event includes a costume contest with judging before the races and prizes awarded during the post-race activities.
Packet pickup is available either the night before the event or on race morning. Before the races there will be music and warm-up activities at the grass lot beside the Busy Bee near the start and finish area. Post-race activities include awards, music, food, and lawn games, and the Farmer's Market offers additional food and family activities afterward. Water stations are provided for the 5K and the Pumpkin Dash.
Proceeds support programs serving Franklin and Southampton County through the United Way and the Department of Parks and Recreation. Tax-deductible donations are accepted. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
