Courses follow popular Sequoia-Bayview and French trails and finish on the technical Cinderella trail, sometimes called the "Wicked Step Sisters" trail. Distances are measured using a Rolatape surveyor's measuring wheel. The course is marked with colored ribbon about every 200 yards and polka-dot flagging to indicate turns; blue ribbons mark wrong ways.
Elevation gains range from 725 feet for the 8K to 5,495 feet for the 50K. Surface composition for each distance is predominantly single track with some dirt road and no asphalt listed. Fully stocked aid stations appear every 3 to 6 miles offering fresh fruit, salty snacks, candy, water, and Skratch electrolyte drink; runners are advised to carry at least 20 oz of water between stations. The event is cupless; participants are asked to bring their own fluid container, with Hydrapak SpeedCups available for purchase.
Additional notes: parking is free; drop bags are allowed for 30K, marathon, and 50K at the start/finish; shirts are provided to preregistered entrants; a costume contest for Cinderella themed costumes awards a prize. Headphones are permitted only on dirt road sections, and no dogs are allowed on course. The organizer notes possible poison oak and occasional bees or yellow jackets.
