2026 Cinco de Mayo 5k : Overview
The event takes place on May 2, 2026 at Dominion Valley Country Club in Haymarket, VA. It includes two distances:
- 5k
- 1-mile fun run
Points from the 5k count toward the 5k & Back of the Pack Series and the Spring Series. The race benefits the charity Willing Warriors.
Course, registration and race details
The USATF certified 5k course is described as mostly flat with a few rolling hills. The 5k is chip timed. Walkers and strollers are welcome. Runners who register by April 22 are guaranteed a short sleeve event shirt; the 1-mile fun run may purchase a shirt for $15 but does not include one. Race medals are awarded to fun run participants only.
Packet pickup is available at the event and the Friday before from 4:00 to 8:00 pm. Race day registration is available. One water station is located on the 5k course at approximately mile 2. Restrooms are at the Sport Pavilion. Parking is available in the upper and lower lots at the Sport Pavilion; overflow parking can use the Giant parking lot across Dominion Valley Boulevard.
Live results will be posted on Athlinks and final results with series points will be posted the Monday after the race. Photos taken by staff will be posted on the event Facebook page by the Tuesday after the event. Promotional discount codes from the organizer are not accepted for this event.
