Event overview
The 2026 Cinco de Mayo 5k is scheduled for May 2, 2026 at Dominion Valley Country Club in Haymarket, Virginia. The event includes a USATF certified 5k and a 1-mile fun run. The certified 5k course is mostly flat with a few rolling hills. Walkers and strollers are welcome. The race benefits the charity Willing Warriors. Points from the 5k count toward the Back of the Pack Series and the Spring Series.

Race services and logistics
The 5k is chip timed. Runners who register by April 22 are guaranteed a short sleeve event shirt; the 1-mile fun run can purchase a shirt for $15 but does not include one by default. Race medals are awarded to fun run participants only. Live results will be available on Athlinks and via an on-course QR code. Runner tracking by SMS is offered during registration. Event photos taken by staff will be posted to the organizer's Facebook page after the race.
Registration fees are listed as: 5k - $40 through December 31, $45 through May 1, then $50; 1-mile - $20 through May 1, then $25. Packet pickup is available the Friday before and at the event. Race day registration is offered, but same-day registrants cannot be guaranteed shirt sizes.
Course support and awards
There is one water station on the 5k course near mile 2. Restrooms are located at the Sport Pavilion. Awards are given to the top male and female overall and the top three male and female in age groups: 15 & under, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+. Parking is available at the Sport Pavilion with overflow at the nearby Giant parking lot. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
