Cilcain Mountain Race
The Cilcain Mountain Race is held at St Mary's Church, Cilcain, Flintshire, CH7 5NN (GR SJ 176652) and takes place alongside the village show. The main course covers 7.4 km (4.6 mi) with 375 m (1 230 ft) of ascent. The route is partially marked and local knowledge of the area is beneficial for safety.
Entries are insured by the Welsh Fell Runners Association. There are no team entries. The event lists race records of 31:28 for men (2013) and 36:52 for women (2015).
Minimum age for the main race is over 15; under 17s run with the main race. The event also includes WFRA insured junior races across a range of age categories with free entry for juniors. Junior races are organised within the showground fields.

- Main race: 7.4 km 4.6 mi, 375 m climb
- U15/U13: same route to be confirmed
- U11/U9: 1.05 km, two laps of the field boundary
- U7: 0.525 km, single lap
Entry fees are listed as £8 online including show entry (show entry value £5), or £7 on the day plus a separate £5 show entry. The race is held in conjunction with the village show and is insured by the WFRA. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
