Chupacabra Endurance 10-hour Run

The Chupacabra Endurance 10-hour Run is a trail race held at Bluhm County Park in Westville, Indiana. The event operates on a specific elimination format where participants are required to complete a trail loop of approximately 4 to 4.1 miles every hour. The course consists primarily of trail paths with a small section of pavement.

Participants must finish each loop within the one-hour time limit to remain in the competition. Those who fail to return to the start before the clock restarts for the next hour are removed from the race. While the event lasts for 10 hours, the overall winners are determined by the speed of their final loop.

Distances and rewards associated with the event include:

  • Endurance 10-hour run

The event provides a designated area at the park shelter for runners to set up individual crew stations. Provided refreshments include water, Gatorade, and snacks. No human or animal pacers are permitted on the course at any time.

Participants receive a limited-edition t-shirt and a wooden medal. A unique reward system involving poker chips is used for those who complete at least four loops. Completed loops earn runners chips that can be exchanged for various prizes, such as merchandise from previous race series events or gift cards and free race entries. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
