Chupacabra Endurance 10-hour Run
The Chupacabra Endurance event is a ten hour trail run held at Bluhm County Park in Westville, IN. The event uses a repeated trail loop and awards a limited edition t shirt and a Chupacabra wooden medal to participating runners.
The course consists of a loop of approximately 4 to 4.1 miles with a short paved section. Organizers start the clock at the top of each hour and runners have one hour to complete the loop. If a runner does not complete a loop within that time they are eliminated from the race. Winners are determined by who runs the final loop the fastest.
No human or animal pacers are allowed; violating this rule results in disqualification. There is space at the shelter for individual crew stations. Event provisions at the start and finish area include Gatorade, water, and snacks.
A chip based prize system begins after four completed loops. Runners who complete 4 to 6 loops receive red chips and those who complete 7 to 9 loops receive blue chips. Chips can be exchanged at prize tables that use matching tablecloth colors. Red chip items include shirts, a coffee mug, and other items from past Crazy Legs Race Series events. Blue chip prizes include various gift cards and free entries for Crazy Legs Race Series events. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
