Christmas Mountain Run : Salida, Colorado

The Christmas Mountain event in Salida features a main distance and a shorter community run held on city and county streets, recreational paths, and bike trails. The course begins and ends on Sackett Avenue in downtown Salida, near Riverside Park and the Scout Hut, and is a loop of about 5 miles (closer to 4.9 miles). The route is mostly flat with roughly 158 feet of total elevation gain and includes paved roads, paved bike paths, and dirt or gravel pedestrian paths. Some sections may have snow or ice depending on conditions.

Event services in Riverside Park in downtown Salida include packet pickup, post-race drinks and snacks, and awards. Prize money is offered for top finishers: top three male and female overall receive $150, $100, and $75 respectively, and first place masters male and female receive $100. The event also supports community fundraising for the Chaffee County Community Foundation and aims to connect health and fitness with local holiday activities.
