Run Through Time Trail Marathon and Related Events
The 22nd annual event takes place in Salida, Colorado, on trails, dirt and jeep roads, and some public roads and property. Courses use the Arkansas Hills Trail System, BLM and Forest Service land, and Chaffee County and City of Salida property. Elevations range roughly from 7000 to 9000 feet. Foot travel only; no crews or pacers are allowed.
Included with most entries are custom race socks, a light hot post race meal, and awards. Prizes are awarded to the top three men and women in each race and to the top three men and women in each 10 year age group.
Key course and entry details:
- 26.2 miles marathon with about 4,000 feet elevation gain and loss.
- 13.1 miles half marathon with about 2,000 feet elevation gain and loss.
- 2 miles run covering the first two dirt road miles of the longer courses.
- 400 meter free kids run in Riverside Park.
Time limits and cutoffs are enforced: a 7.5 hour cutoff for the marathon, a 5 hour cutoff for the half marathon, and an intermediary half marathon cutoff at the 6.1 mile aid station (arrive by 2 hours 20 minutes). There is a combined participant limit of 500 for the full and half, split mostly evenly between the two events. Registration opens November 1.
