The Christmas in July 5K/10K/Half Marathon takes place on Sunday, July 26, 2026, at Shelter #1 on the Tennessee Riverwalk, 4631 Amnicola Hwy, Chattanooga, TN. The event offers the following in-person and virtual options:

All finishers receive a custom finisher medal and a race-themed shirt. Awards are given to the top finishers overall (male and female), in Masters categories (40+, 50+, 60+), and in five-year age groups starting at 10 & under through 80+. The organizer is seeking a charity partner and requires 4-6 volunteers from the partner on race day. Volunteers can earn a $50 Visa gift card by recruiting three additional volunteers and meeting participation requirements.
Participants who register by July 16 are guaranteed race swag in their size. The event has a no-refund, no-transfer policy; in extreme weather the race may be canceled with no refunds. If the event shifts to fully virtual for public health reasons, shirts will be shipped.
Course and logistics
Start and finish are at Shelter #1 on the Tennessee River Park. Runners use the paved river trail. The 5K and 10K are single out-and-back courses; the half marathon is a double loop. Water stations are provided at approximately every 1.5 miles. Participants must maintain at least a 16-minute per mile pace to finish. Packet pickup is available on race morning beginning one hour before the start. RaceJoy is offered for live phone tracking, GPS progress alerts, and remote cheers. Virtual participants must submit their times by the end of race day; virtual packages ship the Monday after the event (shipping to continental US only).
