2026 Christmas Eve 5k & 10k in Georgetown
The event takes place on December 24 in Georgetown, Washington, DC, with two measured distances on a largely flat, out-and-back course along the C&O Canal. The canal path is a light gravel dirt road with minimal elevation change.

The event is chip timed. Registered runners receive a finisher’s medal and a technical (drifit) event shirt; shirts are guaranteed for runners registered before December 9. A virtual run option is available for those who cannot attend in person. Points from the races count toward the Year-Long 5k, 10k, and Back of the Pack Series and toward the Fall Series. The Back of the Pack pace time for this course is listed as 11:00.
Course support and logistics include portajohns on site, packet pickup at the event, live race results posted on Athlinks with a QR code at the race, and runner tracking via SMS when enabled during registration. Water stations are placed along the courses: three on the 10k at approximately mile markers 1.5, 3.1, and 4.6, and one on the 5k at approximately mile marker 1.5; Gatorade will be available at some stations. There will be no on-site race registration for this event.
