2026 Christmas Eve 5k and 10k - Georgetown, Washington DC
This event offers two distances in Georgetown, Washington DC, near 3530 Water St NW. Points earned at the event count toward the Year-Long 5k, 10k, and Back of the Pack series and toward the Fall Series. Walkers and strollers are welcome and a virtual run option is available for participants who cannot attend in person.

The course runs along the C and O Canal on a light gravel dirt road with minimal elevation change and is configured as an out-and-back. The event uses chip timing and provides a finisher’s medal and a technical DriFit event shirt to runners. There are three water stations on the 10k at approximately mile markers 1.5, 3.1, and 4.6, and one water station on the 5k at about mile 1.5; Gatorade may be available at some stations. Portajohn restroom facilities will be on site.
Packet pickup is available at the event and organizers recommend arriving early to check in. There will be no on-site race registration. Live results are posted online and via a QR code at the race, and final results with series points are published the Monday after the event. Awards are given to the top three men and women overall and to age-group placers across standard ranges.
The event is presented in partnership with the John P. Mayhugh Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit established in 2017 focused on improving outcomes for people affected by post-traumatic stress, traumatic brain injury, and addiction. Parking options include nearby garages and spaces along Water Street; the Potomac Boat Club address is listed as a nearby landmark for locating the start and finish area.
