About the race
Choose Kind 5K is a community running and walking event in Fort Mill, South Carolina, held on October 17, 2026 at 2150 Gold Hill Road. The event is organized in memory of a teenager who was killed by a drunk driver and focuses on encouraging acts of kindness and community support.
The event program includes:
- 5K 3.1 miles on the Tega Cay walking trails
- Virtual Run Walk with shirt and race bib shipped
Registration information is provided for each option. The in person and virtual entries list a registration fee of $35.00. The 5K registration opens June 17, 2026 and the virtual registration opens August 3, 2026; both registration windows close on October 17, 2026.
Registration includes a custom race shirt and a medal. Post race food will be provided by Maisie's Green Brae Restaurant. The in person course follows shaded Tega Cay walking trails, offering a trail based route for runners and walkers.
