Choice City Running Festival

Choice City Running Festival takes place over two days in Fort Collins, Colorado at Mountain Avenue and Howes Street on August 7 and 8, 2026. The weekend includes a set of road races organized as the Mountain Avenue Mile and the Human Race series, offering short and longer distances for different age groups.

The Mountain Avenue Mile is a point to point, slightly downhill mile on Mountain Avenue. That mile is offered in multiple waves, including kids (12 and under), walk mile, youth (ages 12 to 18), pushrim, open (ages 18 to 39), masters 40 plus, and elite women and men. Some Mile races list a cash prize purse. There are separate Human Race events over the weekend with 5k, 10k and a half marathon. Youth entries for the Mile include free options for children and for ages 12 to 18. Combo entries are offered that pair the Mountain Avenue Mile with a 5k, 10k, or half marathon on the following day.
